Third-card drill
The Banker tableau is the one thing in baccarat worth learning by heart. This drill shows you a hand halfway through and asks a single question: does the Banker draw, or stand?

How it works
- Read the Player hand, including any third card, and the Banker's two-card total.
- Choose Banker draws or Banker stands. Keyboard: press D or S.
- A correct answer adds 5 virtual coins to your purse. Either way, you will see the exact rule that applies.
No stake is needed. If you get stuck, keep the tableau open in another tab.
The drill
Question 1
Player
Banker
Does the Banker draw a third card?
Read the hand, then choose.
How it pays, and the real odds
Each correct answer adds 5 virtual coins. Wrong answers cost nothing. The drill is about learning the rule, so take your time.
The rule you are practising decides the odds of the real game. Because Banker acts second and follows this tableau, it wins slightly more often than Player, which is why it carries a commission:
| Bet | Pays | House edge |
|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95 to 1 (5% commission) | 1.06% |
| Player | 1 to 1 | 1.24% |
| Tie | 8 to 1 | 14.36% |
Coins here are virtual. They have no cash value, cannot be bought or withdrawn, and are for adults aged 18 and over who want to learn the game.
