About Baccarat Instructions
We wanted a calm, clear place to learn baccarat: no flashing banners, no countdown offers, no talk of winning. Just the rules, the odds and a table to practise at.
Why a textbook
Most explanations of baccarat either skip the third-card rules ("the dealer handles it") or bury them in a chart with no explanation. Neither helps much if you actually want to follow a hand. We set the material out the way a good course book would: one idea at a time, in order, with worked examples and a short recap at the end of each lesson.
The games are there to make the lessons stick. The practice table explains every draw in words; the drill turns the tableau into a habit; the squeeze shows the ritual you may see in high-limit rooms.
Who it is for
Adults in the United Kingdom who are curious about the game, who have seen it played and want to understand it, or who simply enjoy card games. You must be 18 or over to use the site.
What it is not
Baccarat Instructions is a free social casino and learning site. It is not a gambling site. Nobody can deposit, stake or win money here. The coins you use are virtual, have no cash value, are not cryptocurrency, and cannot be bought, exchanged or withdrawn. We are not connected with any casino, bookmaker or gambling operator, and we do not take payment for recommending one, because we do not recommend any.
How we checked the content
The drawing rules on every page follow the standard punto banco tableau used in UK and international casinos. The odds and house-edge figures are the widely published results for an eight-deck shoe, worked out by counting every possible combination of cards. The games on this site run the same rules in code, and we test that code by playing many thousands of hands and comparing each one with an independent copy of the rules.
If you think something here is wrong, we would genuinely like to know. See the contact page.
